Calendar Love

I'm getting antsy about beginning another semester in the graphic design world, and my excitement has sent me on a search for calendars and planners to start my new year off with a big productive bang.

It's gearing up to be a really exciting semester. A week or two ago I interviewed with a local marketing and advertising company in town, and I earned a great internship position. I'll be helping them re-evaluate their current directions and tactics, and re-branding their company while I'm at it! I can't tell you how completely excited I am about this opportunity, and what better way to jump into a big organization/design project than keeping myself organized with a sharply designed planner or calendar?

I'm crushing super hard on this one, from Julia.

So sweet :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

It's been a mixture of heaven and hell being home for the holidays.
(Could I shove one more 'H' word in there?)

On one hand, I've had a great time relaxing and lounging about with the family,
living at a fairly leisurely pace and enjoying my time off.
But I've also had a hard time being efficient in anything or getting even the most menial things done.
I feel like I should be able to relax, but I'm still worrying about all these things I'm not getting done while simultaneously trying to force myself to lay around while I have the chance.

Just ask Truchi, it's turned me into a nightmare of a person to deal with.

Merry Christmas, all. From the other blogs I read, it seems that the blogging world is doing pretty well, striving with all their happy and beautifully dressed lives.
Ohhh jealousy...

Thanks for your suggestions for Kitty names everyone!
The family has decided on a collaboration. It's a new tradition that my little sister Sadie names the cats,
but her two names, "Deek" and "Mak" were a little uninspired,
so we tacked on a little to amp up the kitties' adorable levels.
The darker kitty is Mak Gatsby, and the lighter kitty is Deek Estella
(after a marathon racer Ben looked up to as a child).
I agreed, because Gatsby is just an awesome name for a kitty.
(Plus this leaves the names Basil, MacDuff, Atticus, and Mr. Darcy for my own future babies).
I'm all for cooperation. Here's a picture of some cute stuff.
Thank you weheartit

Hope these made your day better :)

It's one of those days! Where I have time! And I am lucky enough to find AWESOME STUFF!
I'm gonna share it with you!!!

Sorry for the language. I just think this is the funniest show in the world.
I really want a white backpack like this one.

And I'm feeling pretty good about myself and my future.
Because a Death Cab for Cutie song just came on the radio,
and I remember in the past having trouble listening to their music because it always made me sad-
it reminded me of a certain person.
But today I can't remember who that person was...

I'm taking that as a very, very good sign.

I love love all these photos so much.
I would really love a print of the last one...

And my lack of an income is making me itch.
I really hate not earning any money-
not that I spend it often,
but I never seem to have enough to make me comfortable.

Luckily I'm a professional internet window shopper
and depressing myself by browsing through clothes I will probably never afford
is a favorite hobby of mine ;).

For example:

If you can't tell, Anthropologie is my haunt of choice today.
I'm feeling pretty weak in the knees now....
I think I'll go lay down.

Good night.

Hey!

I've got a few photos for you from my adventures,
but unfortunately,
because my camera is very heavy, I am forgetful, and I am a mediocre blogger,
I forgot my camera in the car for most of the trip.

But I did manage to get a few shots that turned out half decent!

On the long journey me and Mom and Mel got mustachios and lips

One of my favorite stores in Columbia is Maude V.
I bought a shirt and sweater,
and then a skirt,
and I didn't even feel bad for spending so much moolahs because everything was
so. beautiful.
I'll take a picture of my new clothses in a minute...

And also Mel looked adorable all weekend,
and met a new friend named Eric IMMEDIATELY
who was totally awesome and currently shooting a short film.

And my favorite-est Uncle Mike came to visit us for the day!!!!
Exporing the town and being congenial to college administrators is so much more fun/ easy with him around backing me up.
I seriously love this man.

I met a lot of really amazing girls this weekend, too,
and I didn't not like a single person I met.

The college was amazing, the town was full of adventure, and
I want to be a Stephens girl.

You know those days when your legs hurt,
and your clothes are too thick but not warm enough,
and you're tired but don't have time to take a nap?

I'm having one of those days.

the zoo!

I'm a little pissy.
Because about a year ago I bought this song through Zune,
but Agyness Deyn wasn't singing.
And that's actually the reason I wanted to buy it in the first place.
And since I am so cheap,
Yes,
it did hurt to waste that 98 cents.

But here's pictures from the zoo!

My mommy was there too, and so was the Kenyan exchange student Imran,
but I don't have any pictures.
I'm pretty sure I didn't mean to avoid taking any pictures of the animals...
But the place was really crowded, and if you really wanted to see a red panda
(which are adorable)
then coming to this blog is probably not the best way to see them in their full beauty.

And here's a list of things I am currently thankful for:
1) The Swell Season and their new album. It makes me feel like I live in a cup of tea
2) Having not only a million boxes of unopened cereal in the house (mom is stocking up for the family christmas- officially being hosted at my house this year!), but also
another pumpkin pie.
3) The construction at school that makes me park a ten minute hike away from the school,
because I've lost five pounds.
4) The fact that you can tell I've lost five pounds
5) The mild fall weather. It makes everything be a little less blah.
6) Those rare instances where me and Chris can cuddle.
7) My Diana and her black and white film
7) My warm bed, and the heavy covers, whom I am going now to visit.
