Party Romper!

At some point during my time at Stephens, I've started a personal tradition. Whenever I go out with my girlies or there's a party on campus, I pull out the Party Romper. It's the perfect mixture of looking half decent while being ironic enough to avoid the pressure of needing to look good, and it's a great conversation starter. And that's the point of parties, right? Plus, as far as I'm concerned, the ONLY way I'm able to pull off such a ridiculous outfit is in an ironic way.
Here's me in Party Romper on Halloween on the far right:

Anyway, recently tragedy has struck and Party Romper got a little torn to pieces in the dryer. Morgan, in the polka dotty dress in the front, swears all it needs is a little repair, but I say, HEY! Forever 21 is having a buy one get one free sale, and I bet it would be awesome if all my friends had party rompers, too. Let's make this a big deal. Let's.

Oh, for the love of Parties, and the love of Rompers.

Calendar Love

I'm getting antsy about beginning another semester in the graphic design world, and my excitement has sent me on a search for calendars and planners to start my new year off with a big productive bang.

It's gearing up to be a really exciting semester. A week or two ago I interviewed with a local marketing and advertising company in town, and I earned a great internship position. I'll be helping them re-evaluate their current directions and tactics, and re-branding their company while I'm at it! I can't tell you how completely excited I am about this opportunity, and what better way to jump into a big organization/design project than keeping myself organized with a sharply designed planner or calendar?

I'm crushing super hard on this one, from Julia.

So sweet :)

(can I just mention how long it's been since I've used the 'accomplishment' tag? A while.)

Seraphine de Senlis

I watched the movie Seraphine late last night, about the French cleaning lady who became a famous painter. It was just the type of thing I needed to see. The stills look like paintings themselves, and no matter how deep into the internet I search, I can't seem to find any prints of her work.

But my future apartments wants to be covered in Seraphine prints. It wants to.

Wish #1:
Don't get stuck in the weird yellow rut Corbin sucks me into.
I hate to lose 10 months worth of hard work and lessons by slipping back into the lifelessness of the pretty but empty Kentucky. The one where I sleep but there's not reason to wake up anyway.

Found this fabric on citycraftonline. Wouldn't it make a neat-o mini dress? Oohhh with a white top....
I want to learn how to sew this next year. I've been looking around for a sewing machine to use this summer and hopefully take back to the dorm once school starts again. My friend Chloe makes dresses often and I'm pretty sure she needs to share her know-how with me.

Oh, and for all you not-my-mom-or-boyfrienders out there, my first year of school is OV-ER and I am so so happy about that. College is fun and all that, but I really worked my ass off this year. I'm hoping for a summer of art, reading, and working for actual payment. I applied at Starbucks yesterday, we'll see how that goes :)

I'm switching majors from Theatre to Graphic Design and Creative Writing. So exciting!! Hopefully my new knowledge will help me become a better blogger. That's always the goal, right?

Here's a few finds from designspongeonline.com that I pulled today. I'm trying to build up an even bigger collection of inspiration for my oncoming semester in the big-bad design world. Lord I'm excited!

pretty things...

Rudi bird can't wait until spring time. I'm fully adapting the shorts/skirt and knee sock style this year. It's already making frequent appearances in my nighttime clothes. Is it strange that I'm missing fall, thuough? That was really the best season here.

I know this isn't really the most festive of celebrations,
but Sadie was acting awful creepy in the tub tonight.
It reminded me of snow, anyhow.

Merry Christmas everyone. We're waiting for Ben to come home, then we're opening stockings :)

Shannon Douglas
Douglas makes me want to be a designer. I don't care if I lay out yearbooks for a living.

Guys, I can't tell you how relieved I am that I finished my English paper an hour ago. I am super mego happy.

Except, I'm also sad, because I can't call my loverly bee-eff and talk to him about how relaxed and happy I am that I'm done,
because he's currently on a
plane.
on his way to
paris

and I will
miss him.
I hope he has a beautiful time.

Happy Valentines Day!!
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was goood.
I picked up Chris in Knoxville, and we
DIDN'T have reservations at a nice restaurant like he promised
("They were all full up when I called! I swear!")
but we DID get Bubble teas ( my new favorite!!) at the Cereal Bar and
had delicious greasy hamburgers and huge thick fries from Shelley, Idaho.
And that was amazing.
Of course, over our weekend of virtually doing nothing
(and yet having time to do nothing, either)
but watch movies and spend money,
we once again failed to do as we promised to each other and forgot to take pictures.
Except for two!!!
So here they are!!

This week my mom is in New Orleans with our neighbor Sam,

so me and Benny have custody of the baby!!

And it's potty training time...

Wish us luck!
