4th of July Party, sans Rudi

Since I don't have photos of my own 4th of July holiday,
which consisted of poolside lounging, rib-eating, and dancing with the Ecuadorian family who lives behind Mario's house at their pig roast. Why do I not have pictures of these amazing adventures? Because Yes.

So look at this post from From Me To You instead! It seriously made my night (that and the cake batter ice cream I just had) and I can't even tell you how flustered I am to know that this event happened the weekend I arrived here in Connecticut, really close to where it happened in Manhattan. It just gets my giggly goat. Giggly. Goat.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the photos as much as I did,
because they reminded me how pretty life can be sometimes.

The only thing that matters

That the past is our future.
The one we've never seen before.

I know this isn't really the most festive of celebrations,
but Sadie was acting awful creepy in the tub tonight.
It reminded me of snow, anyhow.

Merry Christmas everyone. We're waiting for Ben to come home, then we're opening stockings :)

I've been trusted by my future room-mate with the delicious task of decorating our dorm.
And now that I'm actually thinking about it,
my original plan doesn't seem quite right...
I had wanted to do some sort of mustard-yellow with a nice, thick grey,
but now that just seems really sombre and a bit too trendy to actually be comfortable.
Then mom reminded me of my old dream of having a chalkboard wall,
and then I remembered of my plot to paint vintage picture frames a deep, azure blue and hang them on said chalkboard wall.
I'm totally sticking to that, because chalkboard=chalk notes, and an awesome cool chalkboard wall=awesome cool chalkboard wall full of awesome chalk notes. That just seems like too much awesome to give up.
Of course, ours will look much cleaner. This is the aftermath of a babysitting session.

So anyway, I'm scouring design blogs for inspiration,
or, rather a funneling of inspiration because I have too much in my head for one room!
I'll probably be asking you all for input....
and if you have any suggestions or pictures I'd love, please send them!

It's one of those days! Where I have time! And I am lucky enough to find AWESOME STUFF!
I'm gonna share it with you!!!

Sorry for the language. I just think this is the funniest show in the world.
I really want a white backpack like this one.

And I'm feeling pretty good about myself and my future.
Because a Death Cab for Cutie song just came on the radio,
and I remember in the past having trouble listening to their music because it always made me sad-
it reminded me of a certain person.
But today I can't remember who that person was...

I'm taking that as a very, very good sign.

(all the pictures are from here)

ohhh How was your weekend?
Mine was absolutely loverly.

Full of beautiful landscapes and a shiny white puppy...
My grandmother was in town,
((whom I love SO much))
and we got to cuddle a little bit.

plus also! I got to see Chris this weekend,
and we got to cuddle a little bit...

the zoo!

I'm a little pissy.
Because about a year ago I bought this song through Zune,
but Agyness Deyn wasn't singing.
And that's actually the reason I wanted to buy it in the first place.
And since I am so cheap,
Yes,
it did hurt to waste that 98 cents.

But here's pictures from the zoo!

My mommy was there too, and so was the Kenyan exchange student Imran,
but I don't have any pictures.
I'm pretty sure I didn't mean to avoid taking any pictures of the animals...
But the place was really crowded, and if you really wanted to see a red panda
(which are adorable)
then coming to this blog is probably not the best way to see them in their full beauty.

And here's a list of things I am currently thankful for:
1) The Swell Season and their new album. It makes me feel like I live in a cup of tea
2) Having not only a million boxes of unopened cereal in the house (mom is stocking up for the family christmas- officially being hosted at my house this year!), but also
another pumpkin pie.
3) The construction at school that makes me park a ten minute hike away from the school,
because I've lost five pounds.
4) The fact that you can tell I've lost five pounds
5) The mild fall weather. It makes everything be a little less blah.
6) Those rare instances where me and Chris can cuddle.
7) My Diana and her black and white film
7) My warm bed, and the heavy covers, whom I am going now to visit.

The Porridge

( and yes, posting that was hard)

I feel like I have carpal tunnel.

More photos coming soon,
from my mom's trip to Argentina,
from my Diana Camera,
and also some facts about the past month because
as all four of you know,
I haven't been here for the past month.
or so, or so.

It's coming soon,
this is simply me breaking the ice
and also, slightly,
apologizing.
