Simplicity

I'm really hoping this next school year pumps me up and throws me hardcore into design. I'm eeking closer and closer to my personal style- which seems to be one part simplicity, one part color- I just finally want to make something that I find Pinterst worthy!

I love seeing other people's sketches and how they record and grow ideas. Seeing their 'in the box' habits help me expand my own box.
And seeing sketches from a Bauhauser is just inspiring in its own right.

Design Crush

I've completely fallen in love with web designer Heath Waller. I can tell you how badly I wish this first site was my own. I physically hurt with envy.

Summer is really hurting my designer identity. I have my hand in a project right now, but I have to drive across town to a library computer lab to work on anything, and that's just if my mom doesn't need me to babysit or if she doesn't already have plans for us. I have to say I'm really missing the structure and late nights of school, plus the deadlines and constant input from other people. It's a little defeating to realize how dependent I am as a designer on other people's critiques and input- designing without that crutch is just less. Less of everything.

But anyway, I'm in love with Heath Waller.

Look at it this way...

I'm starting to look for ideas for my publication design class next semester. I love the idea of laying out the ingredients like this- it makes the food look so great, and I like that it shows how complex making a meal can be, or how creative it is on the chef's part to look at round or square ingredients and envision how they'll blend together.
